SeceuroGlide Excel in detail
The first (and only) LPCB level 1 approved
garage door on sale in the UK market also with 'Secured be Design'
approval; this door raises the benchmark for garage security. The thicker door slat (77mm high slat, 12mm
thick) and excellent automatic locking mechanism and enhanced security
features make this a very secure door indeed. The 300mm roll diameter (square end plates) gives a
drive-through height 350mm lower than the finished ceiling which enables
the door to be fitted in many more garages than the typical steel roller
doors. |

The SeceuroGlide Excel roller
door offer increased security as the door is held in 90mm wide (all
door sizes) Aluminium 'C'-shaped guides all the way down both sides of the door from floor to
lintel and when the door is shut a very
effective locking mechanism is automatically engaged at the top of the curtain.
In addition bottom slat anchors automatically
engage once the door is closed. SWS
roller doors have excellent draft proofing as they have a weather
seal across the base of the door and thick brush-strips in the guides.
This door is only available with electric operation
and as standard comes with two remote controls and 'safety edge system'
for stopping the door if it touches an obstruction; a 'internal
switch only' option is available saving £100 against the prices below.
To view videos of break-in attempts check SWS's
detailed page on the Excel door... click the 'Testing'
button, then the links to the videos - very interesting,
particularly the end of the 'lift up attack' video where a non-SWS
'generic' door is breached all too quickly! |

LPCB Approval info
In order to achieve an LPCB approved installation the following
criteria must be met:
1. The door must be fitted by an SWS approved fitter.
2. The top 300mm end plate must be above the lintel (i.e. Lintel to
ceiling no less than 300mm)
3. If 'face fitting' the guides must not protrude into the opening
4. If 'reveal fitting' special steel reinforcement plates must be used
as supplied by SWS AND the top 300mm end plate must still be above the
lintel.
5. An external manual override, vision slat, external switch or keypad cannot used.
6. An approved number of fixings must be used and heads spoiled (as
detailed in instructions)
Of course if you wish to DIY fit or if your installation will not
meet the above criteria then you may still purchase the product and
benefit from the higher level of security, however, you will not be able
to affix the LPCB approved sticker to 'authorise' the installation.

and product details on their website.

Choosing the correct size
The door normally mounts to the inside rear face of the
garage door opening but can be surface mounted within the opening if
desired within the security limitations mentioned
above. SeceuroGlide Excel doors are supplied to your exact size requirements
without a cutting charge.
Fitting to the rear face of the opening (Face fit):
Measuring the width
Measure the brick to brick opening width, add the two guides
i.e. 2286 opening plus 2 x 90mm = 2466mm (Overguide width = 2466mm)
Measuring the height
a) Measure floor to lintel, i.e. 2200mm, ensure that you have the
clearance to the ceiling of 300mm to accommodate the roll, if it
is OK your guide height is 2200mm.
b) If you do not have the clearance for the roll measure your floor to
ceiling, i.e. 2450mm, take away the roll diameter, i.e. 2450mm -
300mm = a guide height of 2150mm. See LPCB
approval notes above
* Drive-through height is 50mm less than guide height.
Fitting inside the opening (Reveal Fit):
Measuring the width
Measure the brick to brick opening width and take away
a tiny amount of clearance
i.e. 2286mm opening less 6mm = 2280mm (Overguide width = 2280mm)
Note: in order to maintain LPCB approval the top 300mm end plate must be
behind the lintel - see LPCB approval notes
above.
Measuring the height
Measure floor to lintel, i.e. 2200mm, take away the roll diameter (300mm),
i.e. 2200mm - 300mm = a guide height 1900mm
Note in order to maintain LPCB approval the top 300mm end
plate must be behind the lintel - see LPCB
approval notes above.
* Drive-through height is 50mm less than guide height.

£165 inc VAT.

meet the LPCB criteria you may still purchase the product and
benefit from the higher level of security, however, you will not be able
to affix the LPCB approved sticker to 'authorise' the installation.
